Spring 2011 40 Days for Life
THIS SPRING, from March 9 to April 17, our community is uniting with
hundreds of other cities around the world for the largest and longest
coordinated pro-life mobilization in history: the 40 Days for Life campaign. Recognizing that “with God all things
are possible,” people of faith are praying that this effort will help bring an
end to the tragedy of abortion.
40 Days for Lifeis a focused pro-life campaign that has already mobilized over 400,000 people worldwide, saved more than 3,500 lives from abortion, led to the conversion of 43 abortion workers, and seen nine abortion facilities close.
During this Lenten season we ask the Yuma Community to take an active role in 40 Days for Life. We are seeking individuals to pick just one day a week for only an hour that day to stand vigil outside Yuma’s Planned Parenthood throughout the 40 Days of Lent. What a great Lenten Sacrifice to offer up your time and giving of yourself for the protection of others.

Pro Life Memorial Day is October 4, 2010
The first Monday in October is the day the Supreme Court traditionally begins a new session. Since it was the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that decriminalized abortion, the first Monday in October is the ideal day to commemorate as an annual Pro-life Memorial Day, on which America honors the 52 million young lives lost to abortion in the last 37 years.
