Please join AMEN on Respect Life Sunday, October 4, 2009 in a Life Chain against abortion. We will meet at the Yuma Main Post Office on 4th Ave. and hope to stretch the chain from 16th Street to 24th Street.
Take a stand from 12:10 pm - 1:30 pm.
~ Please join us on Sunday, October 25th at 7:00 PM for a candle light vigil of the Rosary outside our local Planned Parenthood.
AMEN at the Immaculate Conception CCD BBQ
Our first public display was a tremendous success despite 50+ mph wind, dirt and dust!. We presented prolife brochures, distributed info on the new "choose life" license plates (for Arizona!), signed up interested persons to help with AMEN's upcoming projects including manning a booth at the Yuma County Fair (NEXT WEEK), gave away babies (fetal models), bookmarks, rosaries and suckers. Priests came by and gave us their blessings, children came by and picked colorful rosaries promising to pray for pre-born babies. EVERYONE oooh'd and ahhhhh'd when they held one of the soft tiny realistic 12-week old babies (fetal models).
Lives were touched, hearts were softened. Commitments were made.
AMEN at the Yuma County Fair
The AMEN booth was a success at the Yuma County Fair. We met and worked with true pro-life people. It was so great to be surrounded by people with a desire to defend life. We passed out hundreds of Precious Feet pins, 12 week baby models, bumper stickers, bookmarks, brochures, stickers and lollipops. We feel that we truly had an impact on the community. Thank you to everyone who donated their time or money which contributed to the fair.
We were able to see fathers light up and worlds change in an instant when we would hand them a baby model that would be close in size to their expectant wives. It was such a joy to watch mothers stop and show their very small children all the stages of a baby within the womb. Telling their children at the earliest model, "This is a baby." What a blessing these parents are.
We also met people that do not understand the current abortion situation in our country. Adults that did not realize abortions were legal in America. Some people that would rather have an abortion than give their child up for adoption (because they would not want to know where their child was). We found out how much we need to continue to teach the community and how much harder we must pray to end abortion. We are committed now more than ever to ensure that Abortion Must End Now.
